1. Rain Mate Umbrella Travel Umbrella
This umbrella is a solid choice for those who travel with a lot of stuff and need it to be easy to hold without feeling tired or having to change hands.
Pros
- Excellent handle
- It is lightweight and can be carried in a coat or backpack.
- 7 different color options or inside patterns
- Affordable and mid-range prices
- Reinforced fiberglass Ribs
- Button to open/collapse
The lifetime warranty is flexible and allows you to return your money if you are not satisfied with the product.
Cons
- It was a little difficult to get the door closed.
- My Review of the Rain Mate Umbrella
The extremely comfortable handle is what set this umbrella apart from other travel umbrellas I have reviewed. The vibe travel trailer was light and easy to hold. However, the handle is made of a grip-able material which keeps it in your hands even if there’s a strong wind gust.
It has a reinforced canopy made of ribs that makes it extremely sturdy. The compact umbrella is light and portable. I tested it out with a cheerful blue sky print on the inside. It felt as though I was in my own little rain-free paradise.
Rain Mate Umbrella also has an open/close button. This opens the travel bottle like normal but also allows you to pop it back in closed.
After the umbrella is closed, you will need to manually lift the canopy to the handle. This is not a problem, but something you should keep in mind when taking our top-of-the-line umbrella out into the rain.
2. Repel Windproof Travel Umbrella
Pros
- Great rain protection
- Teflon fabric of high quality
- 11 cool colors
- Price in the middle of the range
- Click the Collapse button
- Lifetime guarantee
- Decent wind resistance
Cons
- It is heavy and difficult to open and close.
- It’s basically the same as Rain Mate, but with a more comfortable handle
- My Review of the Repel Windproof Travel Umbrilla:
Repel Windproof Travel Umbrella’s construction is very similar to Rain Mate’s compact umbrella. The only difference between them is that the Repel has a heavier handle and Telfon coating.
This guy, however, is available in a variety of colors and patterns, unlike the Rain Mate. The one that I tried was black on the exterior with a galaxy pattern inside. I thought it was very cool. Find your style preference here.
Although the collapse button functions the same as the rest of the buttons, it can be a little difficult to open and close.
Repel Windproof Travel Umbrellas also feature Teflon fabric that is quick-drying, which I like, but it didn’t dry any faster than the other travel industry I tried.
3. Blunt Travel Umbrella
Pros
- It is light weight (weighs less that a pound!)
- Design features ensure durability
- Tracking device pocket
- Made from high-quality materials
- 2-year repair/replacement warranty
- 8 colors
Cons
- Scalloped shape lets rain in
- When closed, it is taller than an average travel umbrella
- Price point higher
- Buttons don’t cause collapse
My Review of the Blunt umbrella
This umbrella was the most expensive I tried. It cost almost three times as much as the other compact umbrellas. The Blunt Travel Umbrella was also lightweight and made from high-quality materials.
The umbrella’s unique design for the umbrella skeleton tips is what makes it so expensive. Instead of sewing the canopy fabric to a rod of metal, each tip ends in a T shape. This allows the umbrella hardware to fit snugly into the pocket attached to the canopy.
The travel mirror actual canopy was quite small when fully opened. The T-shaped ends gave it a scalloped look, which made it easier for rainwater to enter.
Despite all the great features and high quality, the umbrella fails to fulfill its primary purpose of rain protection.
