Top Execs increasingly choosing Sailing Holidays

By EricAdamson

High-net-worth folks, the type that prefer to work hard and play hard, have a number of alternatives when summertime rolls around.  There are a variety of vacation options available to top executives, such as all-expenses-paid cruises along the exclusive Amalfi Coast or stays at five-star hotels with private beaches. However, a new style of vacation is trending among top execs, especially post-COVID, and that is private luxury sailing vacations.

Setting sail from some of the top marinas in the Mediterranean aboard a beautiful, well made (usually brand new), yacht or catamaran that will take you wherever you want to go and have a crew of three or four to cater to your every need is not your average family vacation.  You can understand why so many CEOs are on board with the idea of a catamaran trip across the Greek Islands.

Leave the herd mentality behind and focus on your team and the vast sea of possibilities before you without regard to the opinions of strangers at the hotel or in the villa next door.

Catamaran vs. Yacht

Catamarans appear to be more common than yachts.  When comparing catamarans to yachts, it’s clear that the former has the advantage due to its speed, stability, and roomy interior that allows passengers to relax and socialise while on the go. Modern conveniences like as air conditioning, dishwashers, satellite televisions, and even washing machines may now fit comfortably within many of these homes.  These boats are the most popular to rent at popular tourist spots because of their convenience. Due to its larger size, these resorts are able to accommodate more guests and provide more private accommodations for them to spend their stay in.

Different Types

Vacationers come in many shapes and sizes, and so do the yachts and catamarans available for hire. Bareboat catamarans are available for charter by anyone with sufficient sailing experience; these vessels may carry anywhere from two to twelve passengers. When you set anchor in a quiet cove for the night, it will literally be just me, you, and the vast ocean. You may relax in the familiar comforts of home while taking in the breathtaking scenery.

Catamarans with local skippers are also an option, and they will show you all the best spots the water has to offer. While the captain tends to the catamaran’s needs, passengers are free to plot their own course and take it easy. If you want to make your catamaran holiday with family or friends even more memorable, consider hiring the complete crew and cook in addition to the catamaran.

Superyacht Options

Superyachts and 80-foot catamarans may be where the top CEOs are spending their money, but that doesn’t mean you can’t experience the high life on the water, too.  If this is your first catamaran rental, a smaller vessel will allow you to learn the ropes while still providing the luxury you deserve as you sail to the next stunning harbour.
